SixEleven or 611 is a Dutch Metalband named after a former Dutch police code for disturbances caused by noise. Founded in the late ’90’s by brothers Paul and Rene Kruidenier and Chris Karreman the band started out playing Hard-Rock covers before finding their own sound in a louder and more agressive style.
After recording a first serious demo titled “The Almighty Bunghole” in 2006 with Ferdy Doernberg (Rough Silk, Axl Rudi Pell etc) in Germany a period of live performances followed that led to the band participating in the prestigious Dutch “Metal Bash”.
In 2009 Ralph Theissen joined the band on guitar which took SixEleven to the next stage. New songs and live performances led to a period of silence. Lack of inspiration and founding member and drummer Paul Kruidenier suffering a heart attack forced the band to step back for a while. During this period of silence the band eventually found it’s definitive sound in the melodic, agressive and occasionally progressive metal performed on their 2018 EP “The Aftermath”.
Recorded with Daan Janzing and Pepijn van den Wijngaart at In The Room Studio in Kaatsheuvel during two weekends the band is ready to once again live up to the meaning of their name and “disturb” and perform live. Replacing founding member and bass player Chris Karreman, whom sadly decided to leave the band, with Yoeri Rol seems to complete SixEleven for a long and prosperous future.
